116 YEARS YOUNG! Congressman Ray McGrath (R-VS),
congratulates Roosevelt constituent Susie Brunson on her
116th birthday. Susie was born Christmas Day 1870 and its
believed to be the oldest living American. Susie, who has
been visited by Congressman McGrath for her birthday ever
since her 111th celebration, was delighted with ail the atten*'
tion she was receiving from her family and friends. Together
the Congressman and Susie reminisced how their friendship
has grown over the past five years since they met. When the
Centenarian was asked what she attributes her longevity to,
she acknowledged that it was God's decision. Susie is a
parishioner of the Mount Sjiiai Baptist Church in Roose-velt.
Congressman McGrath presented Susie witli a Birth-day
cake and a Poinsettia plant to help celebrate her Christ-mas
birthday which was held at the family's home in
Roosevelt. It will probably be the last celebration at the
Roosevelt home as Susie and her family are planning to
move to South Carolina in early spring.
