E. Rc A. PARTY NOMINATES FOR VILLAGE OFFICE JOHN MARKOS
TO RUN FOR
LYNBROOK TRUSTEE
John Jaye Markos, a Lyn-brook
resident and local attor-ney,
has declared his candidacy
for the office of Lynbrook
Village Trustee in the upcoming
March Village Election. The an-nouncement
was made at a
gathering of friends and sup-porters.

At its December meeting, the ERA Party selected its slate of can-didates
for the upcoming March ISth village elections. Mayor
Theodore Reinhard and Trustee Irving Shaw were both renominated
for their respective offices, while Anthony Santino of Ryder Avenue
was selected to run for the seat being vacated by retiring Trustee
Nicholas Cinque.
Mayor Reinhard, an executive with NBC in New York, is
currently completing his first full term as Mayor. He succeeded
former Mayor Arnold White when White resigned. Reinhard, a gradu-ate
of Fordham University, has long been active in East Rockaway
community affairs. He resides with his wife, Maureen, and family
on Scranton Avenue.
Irving Shaw, a resident of Main Street, is a retired executive in
the pharmaceutical field. He currently operates his own private phar-maceutical
consulting firm. Elected in 1981 to fill the unexpired
term of Trustee Forrest Weisburst, Trustee Shaw is running for his
first full term. He is active in the affairs of the Hewlett-East Rocka-way
Jewish Centre.
Mayor Reinhard and Trustee Shaw thanked the East Rockaway
Action Party members for having the confidence to renominate
them to their respective offices. Both men Ipledged to continue the
course that they have set for the village.
Anthony Santino, a graduate of East Rockaway High School,
recently graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree
from St. John's University, He currently serves as the District Office
Representative to Congressman Norman F. Lent in his Baldwin
office.
Santino has long been active in community affairs. He is a Charter
Member and 3rd and 4th degree knight of the Msgr. Walsh-St.
Raymond Council No. 7220 Knights of Columbus; is active in the
Rocky Marciano Lodge 2226, Order Sons of Italy in America,
and serves on the Board of Directors of the East Rockaway Kiwanis
Club.
"I am grateful for this opportunity to serve the people of East
Rockaway," Santino declared. "I hope that my presence on the
Village Board will bring a new insight into the problems that face
our community. I will do everything in my power to maintain the
ideals and the quality of life of the residents of East Rockaway."

A past graduate of Lynbrook
High School, Mr. Markos lives
in Lynbrook with his wife, the
former Louise Janet Campbell, a
long-time Lynbrook resident
whose family has resided in Lyn-brook
for many years. Mr.
Markos maintains a law practice
in neighboring Rockville Centre.
He is probably most familiar to
Lynbrook residents as the
author of "The Law Corner," a
legal information column that
appears in a local publication, t.
Discussing his decision to
seek election to the Board of
Trustees, Mr. Markos stated that
his candidacy is a "natural out-growth"
of his Lynbrook back-ground
and his interest in the
Village. As Trustee, he said he
"would be accessible to Lyn-brook
residents and receptive to
their concerns."

Party held a regular meeting
last night (Wednesday) and it is
expected that its candidates for
Mayor and Trustees will be an-nounced
in the next few days.

On Saturday^ evening, Jan. 8th, the Good Government Party of
Lynbrook announced its candidates for the upcoming Village elec-tions
to be held on March 15,1983.
The Good Government Party candidate for Mayor is William P.
Geier, with Michael Krawchuk and Raymond S. Mathie as Trustee
candidates.
The candidates, speaking before an overflow crowd of concerned
citizens, spoke about bringing the Lynbrook Village Government
back to the people of this community. Mayoral candidate William
Geier staged that the Good Government Party would be more re-sponsive
to the peoples' needs in facing the problems of the future.
William Geier, a life-long Lynbrook resident, attended Our Lady
of Peace, Molloy High School, and received a Bachelor of Science in
Bminess Administration and Law Degree from St. John's University.
Geier, Associate Counsel for a domestic and international financial
services institution, specializes in corporate and banking law. His ex-perience
also includes employment with the New York Stock Ex-change
as a Regulatory Administrator who acted as liaison with
federal and state regulatory agencies. William was also an Adminis-trator
with Bankers Trust, responsible for development of cash
management techniques. On the community level, he is a member
of the Elks Club, the OLP School Board, the Lynbrook High School
Human Relations Council, the Lynbrook Citizens Advisory Commit-tee
on Inter-Government Relations, and a Republican Committee-man.
A Marine Crorps veteran, he is married to the former JoAnn
Palmieri and they have two children.
Michael Krawchuk, candidate for Village Trustee, has been a
Lynbrook resident since 1943. A graduate of New York University
and the American Savings and Loan Institute, he was formerly em-ployed
by Nassau Savings & Loan and the Reliance Federal Savings
& Loan. Krawchuk is presntly a Real Estate and Insurance Consult-ant.
He is Past Chancellor of the St. Mary's Council of the Knights of
Columbus, Past Commander of the Lynbrook American Legion,
Past Vice-president of the Kiwanis Club of the Willistons, former
President of the Lynbrook Republican Club, and a member of the
Board of Governors of the American Savings & Loan Institute. He
has also seived on numerous Village committees over the years in-cluding
the Planning Committee and Member Chairman of Lyn-brook's
50th Anniversary. He served with Army Intelligence in
World War II.
The third member of the Good Government Party ticket is
Trustee Candidate Raymond S. Mathie. A life-long County resident,
who has lived in Lynbrook 11 years, he is a retired Nassau County
Police Officer presently employed at Jamaica Savings Bank as a N.Y.
State Certified Life Insurance Advisor. He also has previous adminis-trative
experience with the Williamsburgh Savings Bank. Mathie
