Bethpage Remembers Our Veterans
The 2011 Bethpage Memorial Day Parade was a true tribute to the brave men
and women who served our country. Hundreds came out to be a part of this
Bethpage tradition and the Memorial Day Parade Committee should be congrat-ulated
for their hard work and effort. In addition the Bethpage Fire Department
deserves our thanks as well as they helped to finance the parade costs. See
centerfold for pictures. ' ' ' " ' ' •• ' ' Trade Center Steel Transported for Mazza Memorial

Bethpage Student Civic Raises Funds to
Save the Games for the
Physically Challenged
Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano visited Bethpage
High School last week to celebrate the upcoming Nassau
County Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged
and congratulate BHS for their efforts on behalf of the
Games. The Games, which were canceled by the state
because of funding, were saved due to the efforts of so many
residents, business owners, corporate sponsors and dedicat-ed
students, much like those pictured above from Bethpage
High School.
"I am so proud that Bethpage High School played a role in
"Saving the Games," stated Mangano. Those gathered at the
High School with Mangano were Principal Michael Spence
and members of the Student Civic Organization. These dedi-cated
students donated $200 to sponsor an Empire State
Games athlete, Philip Formica, and Student Civic members
will volunteer at the Games throughout the weekend.
In addition, Bussani Mobility of Bethpage, which sells
wheelchair accessible vehicles, handicap van conversions,
and related mobility products, donated $5,000 to help Save
the Games.
