Campagnas Honor Son
With Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Gaspar Campagna
gave a birthday party in honor of
their baby son, Salvatore Campag-na,
who was one year old, on
Palm Sunday, April 6th. The party
was_held in the Colonial Restau-

charge upon application. For
the district in which Bethpage
is included apply for ipermit
from local fire warden, Wil-liam
DeFanis, Broadway, Beth-page.
The above regulation and
laws are effective in this town,
and any violation constitutes
a misdemeanor.

Plan New Caddie System
At Bethpage State Park
A complete and permanent list
of all the caddies will be placed
on file, as the boys respond to
the call for 900 caddies. This list
will be divided into groups of 35.
Each group will be nurifbered and
i-otated so that every day a new
assemblage wil Istart out.
This new systean is planned to
insure better service and to guard
against the shortage of caddies,
which the golf courses have ex-perienced
for the past several
years.
The Park officials have also es-talblished
special facilities for the
caddies at Bethpage Golf Course.
They have encouraged the boys to
play golf whenever possible and
all caddies will be allowed to play
golf on one of the four courses
at the park free every Monday
during the season. At the end of
the year special tournaments will
be arranged for the boys and pri-zes
awarded.
The caddie yard is provided with
a softlball diamond, basketball
hoops, checker boards, etc. for use
while the boys await their call to
a group for caddy duty.
EASTER DAWN SERVICE
AT BETHPAGE PARK
Easter S'unday morn, Sunrise
Services will be held again at the
Bethpage State Park under the
auspices of the Rotary Club and all
the Churches have been invited to
attend. This dawn service has be-come
an event not to be missed.
Inspiring address and good mu-sic
are assured. Hon. Cortland A.
Johnson, County Judge of Nassau
County is to be the speaker and
the combined choir of churches
and members of the Women's
Choral Society will be assisted by
a brass quartette. Try to attend.
In case of rain it will be held
iidoors. i
The meeting of the Theodore
Roosevelt Clulb will be held Mon-day
at the clubhouse. The guest
speaker will be Adam Yuloh of the
Nassau County Police, whose topic
will be "Identification Marks."

Five Hundred Club Plans
Annual Theatre Party
At a meeting last Saturday the
500 Club decided to see the play
"Arsenic and Old Lace" in New
York City, for their annual thea-tre
party.
The club has been in existence
for the past twenty years and the
same members have again been
reelected to oyice, namely: Miss
Maude Roibinson, President; Mrs.
Mathilda Fredericks, Treasurer,
and Mrs| George Kearns, Secretary.
Miss Robinson and Mrs. Nettie
Barnet were elected to secure tick-ets
for the play.
Cards and refreshments followed
the business session.
Bethpage Legion Attends
Army Day Parade
^ A delegation of the American
Legion Post Bethpage, attended
the Army Day Parade in Mineola,
last Saturday. Commander Harry
Belscha was in charge.
Unlike any previous period, Ar-my
Day this year was recognized
by the American people as an im-portant
event in the face of a gi^
gantic national defense program
to combat renewed totalitarian ag-gression.
People all over the County turn-ed
out to see the soldiers. Many
draftees marched with the regu-lars.
There was a feeling throughout
the throngs of pride in their army
and security in the knowledge that
everything possible is being done
to handle any invader of our lib-erty
and country.
PERSONAL ITEMS
The Emera Chapter, O. E. S.,
will hold their meeting in the Ma-sonic
Temple next Wednesday eve-ning
at 8 o'clock. A social hour
will follow the meeting.

The Plainedge P. T. A. held a
meeting 8:30 p. m. Tuesday eve-ning
in the Plainedge School at
which Mrs. Kenneth H?i>wkens pre-sided.
Mrs. Frank Wechted waM tho
guest speaker and her loipics were
"Parents Education" and the new
Project now underway on how the
P. T. A. can co-operate with the
defense program.
Mrs. Wechtel was informed of
the completed projects 'of the
Plainedeg School whiclh were: The
Library of 1940; the Curio Caibi-net
of 1940 and the little Play
House for girls which ha« just
been finished.
The Nominating Committee re-ported
that the election of officers
will take place at the next meet-ing
to be held sometime next
month.
After the meeting retreshmei'tft
were served. The table was dec -
orated with daffodils and narciS'
sus. An Easter Card watt set at
each place.
