FREEPORT SCHOOL OFFICIALS and local dignitaries came out in full force to celebrate the 100th birthday of Archer Street School. Highlights of the celebration included a skit performed by fourth-graders,, a new Archer Street School song performed by third-graders, a museum complete with artifacts and photographs from 1909, and a video depicting Archer Street School throughout
the years. Archer alumni, who attended the school as early as the 1920s, also came out to support their alma mater. A common sentiment shared by attendees was that Archer is "a homey school; a place where you always feel safe."
