Students in Renee MacDermott's first grade class at Shubert Sciiool became photojournal-ists tiiis past school year thanks to a technology grant from the Baldwin Teacher Center. Two students each week captured daily classroom activities, class trips and school events through the lens of a camera.
The students brought the cameras home to record a weekend in their life and then learned how to caption their photos and create a sequence for their own personal scrapbook story. .Scrapbooking expert Marie Siciliano donated patterned pages, stickers and punches for the students to use and worked ,with small. groups of students on Fridays...":;
At the end of the year, Ms. MacDermott and her class also created a class yearbook and musical slide show with their photos.
