Freeport School Disifict
The Freeport School District is proposing an expenditure budget of $141,348,407; an increase of 4.8 percent over this year's.budget. The tax levy will decrease by 1.25 percent.
School board candidates are" Ron -Ellerbee and Carmen Pineryo. Both candidates are running unopposed.
Freeport School District residents will vote on Tuesday, May 20, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call 867-5200 or visit freeportschools.org for polling place and other information.

The Baldwin School District is proposing an expenditure budget of $110,810,515 or a budget-to-budget increase of 4.77 percent. The tax levy will increase by 2.17 percent from this year.
The school board candidate is Aiine Hahnon, who is running unopposed.
Baldwin School District residents
will vote on Tuesday, May 20, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Baldwin High School.

The Roosevelt School District is proposing an expenditure budget of $78,826,850 for 2008-2009 or a budget-to-budget increase of 23 percent from this' year's adopted budget of $63,718,405. .
The tax levy increase is three percent. According,.to the district's newsletter the district is receiving more state aid as well as a $12 million special academic improvement grant, therefore the tax levy increase is at three percent.
Voting takes place at Old Centennial Avenue Elementary School and Roosevelt High School between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. For more information about the election call the district clerk at 345-7001. '
BROOKSIDE SCHOOL'S SITE-BASED TEAM hosted their Fourth Annual Math Fair on'last month. Students from kindergarten through grade 5 proudly displayed their artfully prepared math projects to visitors. The students researched topics from multiplication to fractions to pentomines and tangrams. They created interactive games arid questions in order.to iriform their audiences - and test their math skills! Third grader Lino Peralta, an avid Mats fan, demonstrated how to calculate baseball batting averages in his project for the Brookside Math Fair.
