Freeport school board prepares for opening

There are some people you would "Yeally like to keep with you forever," said Superintendent Eric Eversley at the August 22 action meeting of the Board of Education.
Dr. Eversley was speaking of Icmg time community activist Joyce-Lorraine Lisi, who is moving from Freeport. Board members and administrators had nothing but accolades for the woman who has given so much to the community.
President Debra McQuillan said that Mrs. Lisi has "helped this district grow." Trustee Ronald Ellerbe praised Mrs. Lisi for all the committees she served upon in years past and for the time she
served on the Board of Education. He dubbed her as "one of the warmest, kindest people."
Deputy Superintendent Kishore Kuncham exalted Mrs. Lisi's ability to face challenges and make them seem smaller. She was a PTA leader and member (also serving as treasurer of the Nassau Region PTA).
Echoing the previous compliments. Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Dr. Mary Bediako, noted the long hours Mrs. Lisi spent reviewing board policy for the district.
Gifts were bestowed upon Mrs. Lisi as all begged that she return to visit often.
