tastes and looks from Coca Cola, Arizona | Beverage, and (Freeport's own) Dunkin Donuts.
Keeping in time to the great food was the music of Chuk Fowler and Higher Energy. The ensemble offered up a range of jazz and blues music that fed one's soul and added bounce to one's step. >
The original concept for this event was that ofj' Ramiro Santos of Pier 95 who, with Co-Chair Don Mauersberger, has nurtured and guided this' project to success two years running. When asked what prompted his initial involvement, Mr | Santos noted that in his view it was only right to give back to the community where you do busi-i ness. ' • 1
Based on the enthusiasm and generous local! support this event has received, especially from[ area food establishments, it would appear thatS' Mr. Santos' philosophy is one widely accepted' within Freeport's business community. Freeport* Pride was pleased to welcome LI Checker Cab ass a corporate sponsor for 2006 to join its returniiigp 2005 sponsor. Signature Bank.
Proceed^ from the event will assist in under-B writing Freeport Pride's programs relating tog substance abuse prevention and treatment, andg provision of youth services to Freeport area families and youth
