Village of Freeport receives $332,143 for anti-drug project
Terming it "yet another weapon in
the "wai against drugs," Nassau County
Executive Thomas S. Gulotta recently
announced that he has designated the
Vilbge of Frccpon as the recipient of a
$332,143 anti-drug pilot project state
grant aimed at developing and
coordinating all anti-drug activities in
the Village. ' , .
At a Mincola piress conference, Mr.
Gulotta said, "The use and sale, of
illegal drugs is one of the most serious
issues confronting society. It threatens
to erode the basic moral fiber of our
society. Coordinated efforts by all
scgrfteitts of the community to Tight the
problem of drug abuse is the only
: realistic way. to confront the issue and
that is the basis of the grant"
He continued, "Financial support for
. local government activities is one of the

from special funds allocated to the
