FREEPORTS FESTIVE WEEKEND:
Homecoming and military parades
FHS Homecoming
Concerns over Saturday's
inclement weather were needless,
for a capacity crowd at Geotge F.
Emma Beld cheered as the FHS
Red Devils crushed a tough
Ocfanside squad 39-12. Running
backs Cory Brewer and Scott
Richardson contributed strongly
to a: massive 350 yards gained oh
the ground and Jean Pierre
Lorengarde ran for three touchdowns.
The Devils' offensive line,
led'by Cary Huggard, IHnen
Anzelone and Charles Johnson,
provided a balanced attack on
the bapkis Oceanmde team. With
a current record of three wins and
two losses, the Red Devils can be
virtuiUly assured of a playoff spot
if they win (wo of their next three
ganaes, spurred by their Homecoming
triumph. Saturday's
game will take place in Port
Washington.
Also'a Homecoming winner
was the Kiwanis Club's second
annual Pancake Breakfast, whi^h
drew over 500 hungry fans and
grossed $2,000 for the benefit of
the FHS Sportt Booster Club
and weight lifting program.
