FREEPORT- Village Democrats held their nominating caucus
Thursday evening, January 24, and in a quiet andprdetiy manner —
quite the opposite of their. Republican counterpart's nominating
convention the evening before—^ selected a slate of candidates for the
March 19th Village of Freeport election.- "

Souvenir, who said he had been

reelection) and prophesued that

Schildbaut, who had been an
unsuccessful candidate for the
Board of Trustees in 1981, said of
the village: "We haven't had a
two' party system for a dozen
years. It is time to return Freeport
to the U.S.A."
Marrin, whose father -was a
Freeporter but who grew up in
"TiBckyiae-Centre-and-retumed to'—
the village nearly two years ago,
said his primary goal is to make
Freeport "a' peaceful place to live
in."
