• BAiDWIN - Two general Alarm fires during the past week caused
considerable damage to two separate private homes in the northern
section of Baldwin.
.The mote serious of the two fires occurred on Wednesday, February
'20, and is presently under investigation by the Nassau Coun^ Fire
.Marshal's Office, ' which -has. ... . . .',
termed it an apparent arson.

Road,-just east of Grcle Drive
East, was reported at' 12:17 pm,
by an unidentified passerby,
who called the Baldwin Fire
Department.

1,213 to 1,028 to win the designation
as the Republican's candidate
for VillaRe Mayor. Victor
Cohen, topped the candidates for
trustee with lil91 votes, followed
immediately by Smith with 1,190
votes. Hager's running mates,
Ed Monroe- and iionel Socdov,
came in third and fourth, Monroe
had 1009 votes;. Socolov, 967

have already received the designation
of the Home.Rule.Party
and apparently win continue to
run on that line.

and Sunrise Highway by an airport

allegedly accosted by the man at.
about 10:30 pm, as she walked
north toward her home. -
The man, she told police,

put a knife-to her throat and
dragged her behind a fence on
north Ocean Avenue; There he
raped ber, before fleeing on fool
toward North Grove Street.

was taken to Lydia E. Hall
Hospital where she. was treated

aboiit 16 years old, six-Ceet-tall
