When Koenigsdorf climbed to .
the ootdde roof, he was then able
to see extensve damage.
The outside gymnasinm roof
• had"bceit"Sheared off including.^
the five layers of ojvering —
. stories, tar, membrane, concrete
and felt. What resulted was an
extensively damaged open
area wfaidi caused a deluge of
-water to drain directly onto the
ceiling tila of the gyirmisinm.
There was heavy flooding in the
gym and g ^ ' ' locker room
area. The force of the i>Unnag
roof also resulted fai the srnashing
of appronmately 40 windows
on the eastern side of "Building
6" —.the newest building to the
northwest. The twister' then apparently
blew down a portioa of
' the large tree on the track area.
The path of the .twister, said
district officials, then continued
north leaving parts of the tree
and roofing strewn over the track
aiuS football field as well as in
the courtyard area between the
"Building 6" and the gym.
The damage was localized to
the high scfaix>l. A resident of
Hdly Street, just north of the
high sdKxd, reported bearing,
at about 8 pm, a large gust Kf
wind^ which blew on the cover
of her above-giuuud pool. How-
-ever there was r» other damage
intbearea.
