Pumping Station
Contracts Okayed
MlNEOLA - Contracts totalling
$2305.197 for construction of a
pumping station on Ray Street.
Freeport. and a force main were
awarded last week. Both units are
prerequisites for connecting Free-port
to the County" sewage
disposal system. The Village's
treatment plant failed to meet
Federal standards and was
ordered phased out.
The pumping station will cost
$1,321,377. The. 2.8(X)-foot long.
30-inch diameter force main,
costing $1,183,820. will ran

was learned that the village will be Served legal papers Wednesday
- morning to show cause why the village's contract \vith Five
Counties Carting Corp. should not be voided. The taxpayers suit,
on behalf of Dorothy J. Green of Nassau Avenue.-Frccp^m. names

White, Trustees Dorothy Storm,
Wayne Jordan, Tom. Lovelidge
and Al Sirlin. as well as Five
Counties Catting as defendants.
