FREEPORT . Detective Frank MedagUa, of the JFreeport Police
Department, along with detectives of the First Precinct hi Baldwin and
the Nassau Homicide Squad have been credited for the Tuesday
rooming arrest of two young men believed to have fatally stabbed a
21-year-oId East "Northport man Thanksgiving rooming at the Long
Island Rail Road station.

shopping that would
service the immediate area but
would not compete with present
shopping in the Central Business
District. It also calls for a street'
alighnment. .

District's referendum to approve
an application for federal finding
was passed by the voters Tuesday,
440-122. The fiinds, if
granted, would be used to' rehabilitate
classrooms at Columb- •

. The Federal Public Works Employment
Act offers money to
states, counties, towns, villages,^
schools and library districts*
in at attempt to stimulate the
construction industry. Competition
for these funds is keen
and applicants have been given
a less than 10% chance of receiving
approval, according to
some governmental sources.-
Although the district voted, fay
paper ballot at only one polling
place, the figures reccKed by
the Ira dex had been broken down
into the six usual school voting
districts. In the Bayvfew Avenue
School district, there were 127
yes votes and 26 no votes; Archer
