• Fre?pon' Board of : Education
President • Harold , Levine, had
^alltid a - meeting of the other
school districts faced with austerity
.which was held last Thursday,
September 30. Present at the
meeting were: representatives
from Freeport, Hempstead, Wan-tagh;
North Bellraore, Roosevelt
and Levittovyn; as well as Dr.'A.
Buell Arnold, Assistant. State
Commissioner of Education;
State Senator Norman Levy and
his aide, Marcia Corsi; and Dean
Skeles, representing the office
of Assemblyman Joseph Mar-giotta.
Republican , Leader of
the County. ..
Icvine called the meeting
"an extfaordhiaiy!' one in which
the school districts discussed the
various ways they were coping
with' austerity. Most' of the
school districts, Levine said, had
already sent .out, bills. The
"common denominator," he
commented, was that "no school
. district, would do anything to
isolate a child or to hurt him
scholasttcally." •
