PREEPQRT — Before more than 350 standing, applauding people.
Freeport resident Guy Lombardo was escorted to the dais, last
Saturday night, to be honored by the Freeport Chamber of Commerce
as its Citizen of the Year. The band played "Auld Lang
Syne," as Chamber Director Wes Carman escorted the world-famed
bandleader to his seat.

played before millions of.
Americans and throughout the
world, has been a resident of
South Grove Street since (he
early WStt's. An outstanding

fame to the Village's waterfront

Village Board of Trusted public
voting session was witnessed by.
two members of the press and a
Village employee. The agenda
was quickly "covered by the
trustees.
Trustee Dorothy JStorm, .on
bdialf of tbe Board, had made a
study of vacation carry-forward
policies in the ^Recreation
Department and" recommended
to the Board . that the 1975
vacation time due the employees
should be darried over. The
Board concurred.
Advanced plans have been
received by the Village, fron) tbe
New York State Department of
Transportation, dealing with
Part Two of the TOPICS
Program. The Board had
previously approved the-State's
proposals in oracept and, at Ods
meeting, only suggested a guard
rail-to be erected around the-electricHght
substation .on the
southeast comer of Main Street
and MiH Road.
Village Justice Ed Freedman
has suggested that a $1 existii^
fine for paridng illegally, across
parkii^ lines be raised to $3 to
conform to other fines. A
resohilion will be prepared to
amend the Village traffic rules.
