FREEPORT —. The annual
winter "Open House" at the
Freeport Historical Museum will
be held Sunday, Dec. 28, 2-5 pm.
Tlie museum is located at 350
South Main Street..

entirely different from past

Heritage Garden aub as a part of "
their participation in- Village-
-Bicentennial .activities._ The
decorations were,chosen to not
only-enhance therthonesTof-ther
museum's different rooms, but to
"emphasize the Peace desired in

FREEPORT — In the past eight months, the general attitude
with regard to Off-Track Betting in the village appears to have
undergone a dramatic reversal. Considering the fact that last
spring the majority of i»o'ple interviewed were stron^y opposed
to O.T.B., that a local civic association publicly came out against
O.T.B., and that the Village Board was prevailed upon to write to
the 0.T3. adminlsbratxon with
the suggestion that they do not
consider Freeport for a betting
parlor... a poU taken last month,
exclusively for THE LEADER
indicates some .rather surprising'

The newest Village Trustee,
Wayne Jordan, also spoke in
favor of seeing an O.T.B. office in
the Village. "I'd like to give it a
try and see what happens,"

that several sites had been
