.1 The Village Board has set a
nominal fpe of $2.00 for a permit
to conduct what is .commonly
known as a garage sale. The
Board noted that th^e sales are

household items and
should not be a regular business

A 16-year-old male resident of
Freeport was arrested Monday
night on charges of leaving the.
scene, of an accident and
possession of a stolen car in an
investigation which began
Sunday night when Steve Eason,
17, of 8 Oak Street; Roosevelt,
was. found injured at. Parson .
Avenue and Rutland Rpad in an
auto owned aild reported stolen
by R. Wilkins of 117 Albany
Avenue: The car had struck a

Eason, suffering fi^in a broken
nose and facial lacerations, was.
admitted to the Nassau County
Medical Center as a prisioner to
be arraigned when able.. The,
.younger boy who is alledged to
have been. the driver,' was
arraigned Tuesday.

Joaquin Sierra of 100 South
Ocean Avenue, Freeport, after
having accumulated 26 parking
ticketawithout answering them
was brought before Village
Justice Edwin J. Freeman, on a
warrant by Detective Frank
Medaglia of the Freeport Police
Department. After pleading,
guilty to the charges, Mr. Sierra
was fined $260 or $10 per ticket.
Such parking tickets are nor-
- mally two or three dollare each.-
: These tickets were as a-result

'Recreation Community Center, Is
expected to be in operation for
the benefit of Freeportere In 1973.
^The'Village Municipal Building is
being enlarged to serve the
community for .many jriore
