' The Preeport Village Board
and the Freeporl Board of
Education have, j adopted
resolutions which^provide for
partial tax exemption for senior
citizen hoftie owners. THe^
maximum allowable income has-^~
,been raised from $5,000 to $6,000.
Anyone who has owned
property for five years or more
and who is 6S years old or older,
with an annual income of $6,000
or less, may be entitled to a 50%
reduction in the assessed value of
the property, which results in a
_50% reduction in Village and
School taxes. If the property is
jointly owned by husband and.
-wife, only one of the two must be
65 years old.
To obtain Village exemption It.
is necessary to apply for a special
application in the Village
Assessor's office. Call Fr. 8-4000,
Ext. 2S6, or come to Village Hall

burglary in progress at 23 Craig
Street.

suspect, later identified as
