Record Turnout For
GOP Barbecue
If the Freeport Republican Party does as well at the Polls in November as they did at Waterfront
Park last Saturday night. Democrats will be nursing thor woiincl^ for a long time to come.
The occasion was the annual Barbecue and Picnic whicA in recent years has developed into the
biggest campaign kick-off in Nassau County. One thousand party faithful were expected to attend
\mX Republican Qub Pres. Fred Hager reported thai 1600 people ate the hambur^»^, holdogs,
buttered corn, and bak^ beans washed down with cold beer and soda.
The huge crowd containing many familiar political personalities,also danced, watched the entertainment
and enjoyed the cool waterfront breeze until late in the evening.
