Our community looks forward
to tliis gala parade which helps
establish a close, friendly relationship
between our business
and residential communities. Tlie
recreation dept. of Uie Village
of Freeport under the guidance
of Mr. Stan Breknc and Mr.
Joseph (icrhauser, Chairman of
the Retail I>ivision of the
Chamber of Commerce have put
together one of the biggest and
best parades ever. Don't n.ss
this spectacle • bands, clowns,
color guards, twirlers, and a float
from the Freeport High School
vwth our football team and
many other surprises.
The parade will form at the
Senior High School on Brook-side
Avenue, move south on
Brookside to Merrick Road, east
on Merrick to Main Street, north
on Main past the reviewing
stand to Sunrise Midway, east
on Sunrise to Henry Street and
south on Henry to termination
point.
Mrs. Carmen Curran of 29 Ray Street, Freeport was chosen Mrs. Merry Christinas 1970
at die Chamber of Commerce luncheon last Thursday at the Villa Rosa Restaurant. The
lovely brunette who has lived in the Villa^ for 10 years is pictured above with Joe
Gerhauser and "you know who". Joe is Chairman of the Toyland Parade being held
Saturday, Novembo* 28th. Mrs. Merry Christmas will reign over the parade with her
court, first runner up Carole Gellineau and second runner up Nancy Mapiire.
The Retail Division of the Chamber of Commerce presented many gifts to the finalists.
Also participating were Casual Chic, Woolwortfi's, Leon's Boutique, Carol Q-eens,
Leonards, W.T. Grant and the Ladies Auxiliary.
