Wrmporl Republicans for Buckley
Sworiii n i l s rrCGpOi •
The accompanying pictures show the results of a s^ort but
vfiolent storm that swept across Long Island at approxinnately noon
last Sunday.
Most of the serious damage here occurred in the northern part
of Freeport, where many large trees were blown down acrors homes
and wires, causing loss of some power and telephones.
The Village is to be commended for acting promptly in the
emergency. In spite of the fact that rounding up of electric repair
and line men was hampered by no phones in some areas, Bab
Sherman and his Village electric department crew were on the job
within 15 minutes of being informed of the dangerous downed wire
situation.
