The Long Island State Park
Commission has notified the
Freeport Village Board that the
boat laiinching ramp on Albany
Avenue, constructed by the State,
is being turned over to the Village.
This public facility was set
up completely by the State, with
the intention it would go to the
Village after twenty years. However,
the Village Board and th»
Long Island State Park Commission
were able to come to an
agreement to have the Village
take over immediately on completion
of construction. This gives
Freeport two public boat launching
ramps, the other being a Nassau
County facility at the West
end of the Village.
