Russcli E. Hotaling, one of
the most outstanding men in
Frccport's history, died suddenly
after suRering a stroke
on July 5, 196B In Springfieid,
Ohio,
He was 81 years old and
recently retired to live with
ills son, Dan Hotaling in that
city,
Russ Hotaling was widely-known
and highly respected
in the community. Among his
most salient achievements was
the fact that he was considered
a "Mr. Freeport Exchange
Club" in recognition for his
many years of service with
tiiajt organization.
Mr. Hotaling also served as
Deputy Village Clerk of the
Incorporated Village of Free-port
for nearly a decade and
was a director of the Freeport
Public Library.
