COLUPSES
The Freeport Incinerator, located on Albaiqr Avenue, collapsed
last week. This serious situation brings j ip the possibility, wHich is
now under consideration by village officials, of closing this municipal
facility permanently.^
It was originally Intended that about one half^million llollars
would, be spent, for rehabilitation and modemization. In fact, specifications
and°^ requirements of the proposed changes have already
been submitted to bidders. V
The collapse happened in the "charging- floor," that section- ot
the incinerator from which refuse is delivered into the burning area.
