The modern Jind luxuridiis ^apartment houses which are
beinip built in Freeport, play an important part in the economic
picture of the Village.
Not only arc ^hSy attracting a very high-class typ^. of
resident but they are also* bringing an improved look of
progress in many sections which were starting to look
seedy and backward.
The builders of these apartment liouses have invested
millians of dollars in tliese projects. They selected Freeport
because they obviously had faith in its future as a pro-gressive
community. Otherwise thev wouldn't hav£jii^aledi^0R^Tg;-g^|^Br4SrjBf^^
huge sums of mopej' inthese modern and eye-appealing
apartment house buildings.
This past week, eleven of the more progressive and
community-minded apai-tment "house owners joined together
for the purpose of publicizing Freeport.
They have pledged thousands of dollars to be used in
a campaign to inform the people of Long Island and Metropolitan
New York about die many natural benefits of the
Village of Freeport.
As we have pften mentioned, Freeport has been liigUy
endowed by nature with a ^rbndiexful waterfront and a
centi-al geographic IqcatioUi It is almost within the sbado\ys
of Manhattan's skyscrapers, only',minutes away/from New
York, yet it enjoys the'essence of ideal suburban living,
Freeport offers its residents excellent slijoppipgeslab-

A parade, with the general theme "Salute to the 70th" ahd built
-around various events in Freeporfs history from the early days ot
Raynortown to the present, will mark the oi>entog ot the PrceporS
HSsloncal Festival on Saturday, October 30, In honor of the TOfcU
anniversary of the Incorporation of the Village of the Pre«port.
