School System, announced that Justice Edward Robinson, Jr., of the
Supreme Coilrl, presiding in Trial Term at Mineola, had dismissed the
oomplalnt brought by V. B. Construction Co., Inc., against the Board
ol Education of TVeeport after a trial which consumed an entire weelc.

Assoolatlon approved a by-laws. .amendment' authorizing Its Judiciary
C!ommlttee to Investigate and pass upon the qualifications of prospective
judicial candidates before they have beeft nominated by a political party.
' In past years, such action by the Bar Association has been limited

Climaxing a spirited and high-level campaign, 8305
voters went lo the poUs m\ March 20, 1962 to elect a Police
Justice in Freeport.
The can test was one of the most active in Freeport
history and it attracted four prominent !a\^Tcrs.
Edwin J. Freedman, the winner, was the standard
bearer of the Villtige Party and was also endorsed by various
independent committees.
Oakley Gentry was the Unity Party candidate, NathaH
Zafalow was the Regular Freeport Democratic Club candidate
and was also ciidoi^ed by an iiidqjendent committee.
Edward Farrell ran as an independent candidate.
Summary' of the results of the 8.305 ballots cast is as
follows:
