More than 300 members and friends of the Preeport Plre Dept.
attended the special ceremonies held on Sunday. May 28, which marked
the official dedication and presentation of the new Mack Fire Truck to
Hose Co, No. I of the -Preeport Plre Dept.
The general committee for the presentation, which WHS held at Hose
Co. No. 1 headijuflrters on Southside Avenue, was headed by Paul None-makt.

25th Anniversary Dinner-Dance
Hundreds Of men and wdmen, from every walk of life and of every
Vaoe, creed, color arid religious denomination, gathered on Tuesday
ivenlnf. June 6, in the main ijallroom of the Garden 0 % Hotel to honor
preeport's Father John J. Madden.
The highly respected, beloved and widely-known Bev; John JMadden
ol Our Holy Sedeemer Churchj :was the guest of honor at the Silver
Jubilee Dinner and Dance in observance of tils 25th anniversary in the
Priesthood. \' " "'
Since he was -first ordained. Father Madden has been assigned to
the Holy Redeemer Chareh. Prior to becoming a Roman Catholic
Clergyman he was a successful trial lawyer. He is widely-known as a
master orator and after-dinner speaker and has appeared before most
of the major organizations of the Long Island-New York area.
The Hon. Joseph Carllno,- SpeaKer of the Assembly of the State of
Kew York, was the scheduled principal speaker.

Improvements In Village

Nassau County officials announced definite plans which will give
the Village of Preeport a bBautilul park without any cost. The proposed '
improvement covers thai area from the northwest comer of Atlaatlo
and Southside Avenues, continues north along Southside Ave., west to
SouSi Brookside Ave., then north to West Merrick ad., bordering on
Milburn Creek in Freeport. There'tt also be improvements of the same
