LOUISE SAID YES! A Unique Bethpage Marriage Proposal is a
True 'SIGN' of LOVE
Mill you
I ' H i ^ l ' l l ^ l f t
Thank goodness Louise's said YES!!!! I am sure most residents saw the
dozens of signs which lined Stewart Avenue recently. Those signs along with
many others were all plot of John Taaffe's elaborate and romantic plan to
propose to his love...Louise Andruzzi.
The light up sign at the new TOB Ice Skating Facility was also part of his
plan, as too, were the balloons and large lawn signs which led the way to
Louise's home. There John waited on bended knee, ready to ask Louise to be
his wife. AND SHE SAID YES!!!
They will be getting married this August and we wish the happy couple all
the health and happiness their hearts can hold. We give John five stars for a
truly romantic and creative way to pop the question.
New Field and Playground to Be Named
In Memory of
Matthew McGrorty
In the early part of 2007, John
and Carol McGrorty were devastat-ed
when doctors told them that
their son, Matthew, had a rare form
of liver cancer. Matthew was diag-nosed
with hepatoblastoma just
before his 3rd birthday. He was a
very brave little boy who under-went
15 months of treatment before
losing his battle to the disease.
Young Matthew fought long and
hard against the cancer that took his
life on June 18, 2008. During his
fight, Matthew McGrorty was
almost never seen without his DVD
Player it was his favorite thing and
helped keep his mind occupied
while he battled. Matthew loved his
blue truck, watching the planes at
Republic Airport, and seeing the
trains coming into and out of the
station. When he felt well enough,
he would love to play at the play-ground
down the block from his
home. On April 2010 the com-munity
of Bethpage will come
together to celebrate the naming of
that playground and the dedication
of a new T-ball field in honor of this
brave young boy. Matthew's twin
sister Ashlynn will be the first play-er
to ever hit on that field. Bethpage
Baseball is scheduling only one
game that day, a T-ball game. We
are inviting every team from the
youngest, to the oldest to show up in
uniform to honor this young boy.
Our friends in Football, Soccer,
Lacrosse are also invited to do the
same as are all of the school
teams. Please come down on April
19, 2010 at 6:00 PM on the Comer
of Flamingo Lane and Cafifrey
Avenue
