Bethpage Chamber of Commerce's
Summer Festival '92
Chamber finalizes plans to insure success of Festivai
whicti tias been deemed as the third largest Festival
on Long Island during the Summer.
It hardly seems imaginable that
one year has passed since the
Bethpage Chamber of Commerce
sponsored their Summer Festival.
The event which was designed to
introduce and better acquaint
Bethpage residents with their local
merchants d|d just that while also
attracting nearly 10,000spectators
who partook in the eight hour
festival. Well it Is now time to set
sites for the Chamber's Second
Annual Festival which will take
place on August 8th. The location
for this year's event is the same
as last year, the Town of Oyster
Bay Parking lot which Is adjacent
to the Bethpage Railroad train
station. The festivities will begin
at 4PM and end at midnight.
This year the fair promises to be
even more spectacular than last
years. The Chamber will provide
us with 4 adult rides and two kiddie
rides as well as 6 game booths
which are sure to keep everyone
busy. There will be a dunk tank
where you will be able to dunk
some of Bethpage's notables as
well as a speed pitch to test your
skill. There will even be a classic
car with some pretty amazing
autos as well as a chance to
sample many new vehicles compliments
of Detto Bufck. And if you
want to reallybe entertained then
the Chamber of Commerce is sure
to knock your socks off as they
have scheduled entertainment
compliments of Bethpage's own
Unique Sounds and Long Island
Entertainment. These two DJ's
had everyone on their feet last year
and believe you and me it would
take a pretty stubborn foot to keep
from tapping when hearing either
DJ. There will also be shows going
on throughout the day which will
feature dance recitals and karate
demonstrations from local groups
and local children; town and
county dignitaries will also be on
hand to help officiate this fantastic
festival in good old Bethpage. And
then we have our merchant booth.
Over 60 of them to be exact with
each one distributing literature,
selling merchandise or helping to
satisfy the appetite of hungry
festival goers. All day long merchant
raffles will be held as well
as 50-50 raffles and the Chamber's
Grand Prize Blue Raffle where you
could have a chance to win $5000
(tickets are on sale now at Bret-ton's
Deli and Beth Drugs).
And if that's not enough to
entertain you then perhaps the
world reknown Grucci's will be
able to light up your night as they
will be lighting up Bethpage skies
with a fireworks illumination display
that is too spectacular to try
and describe. That's right Grucci
fireworks right here in Bethpage!!
So you see August 8th is far to
marvelous a day to miss. The
Chamber urges everyone to keep
that date open on their calendars
and take part in a festival not to
be missed. Last year the Chamber
was delighted with the turnout and
this year they are hoping for an
even better turnout. So gather up
your family and your friends and
come on down to the Bethpage
Chamber of Commerce's Summer
Festival '92. What a grand way to
celebrate summer in the town we
all love...Bethpage!
