GETS HER WINGS
A Thank You
From President Bush
What is more appropriate for
commemorating Women's History
month than to present the story
of one of our community's outstanding
young women and her
service to our country. Captain
Ann Schiavetta, daughter of
Danny and Dei Schiavetta, lifelong
residents of Bethpage, was
awarded her wings in recognition
of her graduation from the Army
Rotary Aviation School at Fort
Rucker, Alabama.
Captain Schiavetta, upon completion
of Bethpage High School,
attended Cornell University
majoring in Physiology. At this
point in her education, the Army
offered her a full scholarship. After
obtaining her Bachelor of Science
|degree, she was sent to Fort Hood.

^Texas A& M University (1986
through 1988) for a Master's

application to Flight School which
she attended for almost a year.
On December 18th, 1991, Captain

When President Bush became ill while in Japan, Mrs. Cordiner's
First Grade Class in Central Blvd. sent him get well letters. The class
typed their letters in the C.C. Writer room and mailed them to the
White House. Recently, they received a large box from the White House
and were very anxious to see its contents. President Bush thanked
the class by sending each child a White House Booklet which featured
President and Mrs. Bush. Pictured here is the proud class holding
up some of their booklets.
