LENNY KUNZIG SETS UP
CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS
Pictured above is the newly established Councilman Lenny Kunzig
Campaign Headquarters which is located on Broadway in Bethpage
adjacent to the Deli Barn. Republican Club Executive Leader, George
Youchmann was enthusiastic with the new headquarters and urges
everyone to come on down on September 22 at 1:00 PM to kick-off
Lenny's campaign. Youchmann also stressed the importance of
having a '"Bethpage" voice on the Town Board and is quite confident
that Lenny will be returned as Councilman.

MURDER IN
On Saturday September 14, what
started out as a night of fun and
dancing, ended in the fatal stabbing
of Encarnacion Sandoval Romero, a
natuve El Savadorian who was living
with his 4 friends in a one family Bethpage
home. Isadore Blanco age 32, pleaded
not guilty to charges of first degree
manslauder on Sunday September 15
at First District Court in Hempstead.
Both men came to the United States
to earn money.
Apparently the evening started out
as a friendly get together. All was fine

S. Gulotta today announced that the
County will observe MIA POW week
with several special events culminating
in the annual candlelight vigil on
Saturday, September 21 si. at 7:30
p.m. in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow.
Gulotta urged all interested
veterans and residents to attend the
special events in order to "demonstrate
our concern lor those still
missing in action from the Vietnam
War."
Our veterans and their families have
sacrificed in order to make our
country the world's bastion of freedom,"
Gulotta said. "It is because of
their commitment that we can look
upon this nation, the United States
of America, as the greatest nation in
the world. It is right and proper that
we pause and remember those who
never returned from foreign soils and
demonstrate that we have not forgotten
their plight nor the frustration and
hearbreak suffered by their families
and loved ones. I hope a large
contingent of County residents will
attend these important events."
The candlelight vigil will be the
culmination of a day long schedule
of activities related to the issue of the
MlA/POW's. Earlier, at 12 Noon, a
POW MIA [otuiii will take place at
the Mairi(Ul Hotel in Inionclak'.

21st, from the Belhnorc Street

cade will leave Bellmore at 5:30 p.iii.in
arriving in time lor the 7;30 canclle-light

and Veterans Ser\ices Oirecloi Dennis

the Na.ssau. Suffolk area will be read
aloud to enhance public attention to
their plight.
" We must never forget our sons
and daughters who answered oiii
nation's call and who never returned
home." Dennis Dunne noted. "I his
vigil will provide all our residents with
the opportunity to demonstrate that
these brave individuals who faithfully
served our nation have not been
forgotten."
The program is scheduled to begin
at 7:30 p.m.

until about 11:00 p.m. in the evening
began to argue, it was reported that
Romero was ridiculing Blanco's style
of dance and that Blanco invited
Romero outside to settle the dispute.
Romero declined and it was then that
Blanco is alleged to have grabbed a
folding knife and stab Romero.
Romero was pronounced dead at
the scene and Blanco was arrested
some two hours later when he was
found walking on Hempstead Ipke.
