Navy Halts Grumman F-14 Aircraft
Remanufacturing Funds

(NYSE: GQ) announced today
that the U.S. Department of the Na\y
has is.sued a termination order lor the

lost although the longer term effect
is being assessed.
''We believe that an objective
analysis of the Navy's needs would
indicate the F-14 offers the country
the most effective and lowest cost
alternative. Defense Secretary Cheney
has indicated that Congress will
debate this issue and we will do our
best to make certain the F-14 story
is fully understood," Myers said.
Myers added. "It is also important
to note that this action is a 'contract
termination for the convenience of the
government,' so we do not expect to
bear any of the costs. About 4.100
people work on the F--14 program, but
many of them are building the new
