Thanks Bethpage!
Only in a town such as Bethpage
can one expect to find such generosity
and kindness that the members of this
community have to offer. It seems that
whenever an individual or group is in
need of support, someone always
comes through to a.ssist them. This
quality was again displayed as the
Bethpage H.S. Marine Physical Fitness
team was met with the dilemma
of raising funds in order to compete
in the Marine Corps Youth Physical
Fitness National Championships in
San Diego, Calif.
In the 3 years that 1 have run the
Marine Physical Fitness program at
Bethpage H.S., all athletes, who have
had the opportunity to compete in the
nationals have spent many hours
engaging in a variety of fundraising
endeavors. As in the previous 2 years,
we have had an extremely generous
outpouring of financial support from
school and community organizations
and businesses, as well as from many
individuals in the community. Without
their help, our ability to get a team
out to San Diego to compete would
be severely hampered. It is because
of the generosity of the fine people
within the community and schools,
that such opportunities for the students
in Bethpage is possible. This is
also why Bethpage is so tightly knit,
and is without a doubt, the best place
on Long Island to live. Thank you
Bethpage.
