Bethpage Rotary Club
Honors Two Seniors
OYSTER BAY Town Councilman Leonard Kunzig (left) presents a citation
to Bethpage School Superintendent John Sommi, who, after 13 years with
the district, is retiring. Also on hand for the presentation was Sommi's wife,
Catherine.

at their regular luncheon as Scholar
Athletes lor this year. Craig lellalian
and Marisa I.eikovvski were chosen lor
their athletic activities and their
outstanding academic achie\ements.
Oaig iellaiian has been the Student
Council President this year and the
sparkplug behind a wide \ariety ol
activities such as the Homecoming
Parade and Dance, the .lason Silver
Volleyball Tournament and the Dating
(iame. Craig helped to reorganize
Student Council in an ettort to involve
a larger segment ot the student body.
As place kicker tor the varsity
football team Craig earned the Golden
Eagle Award tor most spirited player.
He also served as captain of the varsity
bowling team and played third ba.se
for the varsity baseball team for the
past two years.
Academically. Craig has achieved
success in four advanced placement
courses and is ranked number 5 in his
class. He plans to attend the Wharton
School in the University of Pennsylvania
as a step on the road to
becoming a lawyer. His involvement
with the P lA, Dads CMub and community
groups as well .is the Stiidcni
