remember, and 1 am MUX- lotiu bclmc
that, residents liavc taken to the stieets
ol our town to view the annual parade
and ol course pay tribute to oui
veterans. Ibis year however was a
little dilferent. More people lined
Bethpage's streets and Hags seemed to
be waving in abundance. Spectators
cheered and applauded as the parade
passed through town while many a
resident proudly saluted our Hag. And
why? Well perhaps the War which we
all experienced just a short time ago
has given us the realization oj lust what
it means to be a soldier, or a veteran
of our armed iorces. Certainly we
realize it is not an easy lob and \el
at times it is a thankless one. Perhaps
now. having just recently experienced
a War our minds have been relreshed
with the realization ol the men and
women who have and arc risking and
sadl\' lost their li\es tor our countrv.
Something we should never torget nor
lose sight ot. And maybe that uas whv
this parade was special, wh\ this \car
