OYSTER BAY Town Supervisor Angelo A. Delligatti (right) swears in newly-appointed
TownCouncilman Leonard Kun/.ig of Bethpage, under the watchful
eye of his wife Donna and Father Mark lucker ( .S.S.R. of St. Martin of
Tours R.C. Church, in Bethpage. Councilman Kun/ig was appointed on
February 26 to fill a vacancy on the lown Board.
Grumman Awarded!
Government Contract
Grumman Corporation (NYSFi:
GQ) announced on March 26, that it
has been awarded a $155.8 million
contract for the F'F-lllA System
Improvement Program. This lull scale
development contract was awarded by
the U.S. Air Force's Aeronautical
Systems Division, Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base, Ohio.
"We will take as much care and
pride in upgrading these aircraft as we
did in designing and building the
original systems,"said Peter B. Oram,
president of Grumman Aircraft
Group.
Grumman Aircraft (Jroup leads an
industry team that includes I'aton's
AIL Division; Astronautics Corporation
of America; IBM; Compicck; and
Smiths Industries.
During the five-year, full scale
development, the Grumman team will
develop and upgrade hardware and
software to improve the radar jamming
capabilities of the FF-lllA.
About 160 people will be involved at
Grumman. They will design a prototype
upgrade kit that will be installed
in an FI-I 1 1 A at Cirumman's Ciijlvcr-ton.

Grumman has been the ppme

contractor for both the Air Force and
