Mid-Island Hospital and its 22-bed
maternity care unit is progressively
advancing toward fulfilling the needs
of today's women. This acute-care

of care with a modernization of its
birthing rooni concept. This new
standard of development enables the
mother to labor, deliver and sometimes
recover in the same room.

says of the advancement. "The birthing
room will afford moms the
opportunity to deliver in an atmosphere
conducive to their home environment
and will enhance total obstetric
care."
Mid-Island's renovate^ birthing
room will add grace and warmth to
total maternity care and will accommodate
all obstetrical procedures

of the refurbished addition, "A
woman can now deliver in a natural
and very beautiful environment with
fill back-up hospital services and support
with the health care facility's birthing
