Grandparents Day At Central Blvd.
Central Blvd. celebrated its Tenth Annual
Grandparent's Day on Monday, October 25th.
Nearly eighty hardy grandparents braved the
wind and rain to attend our Tenth Annual
Grandparent's Day.
Grandparents were treated to a tour of the building
by sixth grade guides, music and computer
demonstrations, as well as entertainment provided
by students. Refreshments were served,
courtesy Central Blvd. PTA.

Mr. Chassen, math teacher, demonstrates the use of computers
and calculators in instruction.
This year Veterans Day
will hold a special importance.
During the week of
Veterans Day a National
Salute to Vietnam Veterans
will be taking place in
Washington, D.C. and on
Saturday November 13th
the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial will be dedicated.
The Archie McCord Post,
The American Legion,
invites residents of Bethpage
to join them and the Archie
McCord Auxilliary Unit
and the Butehorn Bros. Post
#4987 Veterans of Foreign
Wars, at services commemorating
the sacrifices of the
veterans of all wars.
Services will take place at
the monuments in the Beth-page
Community Park starting
at 11 A.M.

ATHLETIC FIELD COORDINATION
SUPERVISOR ED DRESSLER of the Nassau
County Department of Recreation and Parks, a
resident of Bethpage, was cited recently by Congressman
Norman F. Lent for his service to the
people of Nassau County through his 30 years of
work for the Amateur Softball Association. The
former Metro Long Island Umpire-in-chief was
elevated in 1975 to the position he now holds of
National Senior deputy Umpire-in-Chief was elevated
in 1975 to the position he now Holds of
National Senior Deputy Umpire-in-Chief with
the ASA. Ed also has spent 30 years as a high
school baseball and basketball official and in
connection with his full-time position as athletic
fields coordinator, he has been instrumental in
staging the Section Eight High School Baseball
Championships each year at Eisenhower Park.
