Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Jolly old "St. Nick" will take to the air Saturday, Dec. 19
laden with Christmas candy for his annual Santa by Helicopter
visits to seven Nassau County parks.
His "chopper", provided through the courtesy of the
Nassau County Police Department, will alight at facilities
operated by the Department of Recreation and Parks as follows:
Cow Meadow Park, end of S. Main St., Freeport, at 10 a.m.
Roosevelt Park, Lakeside Dr., Roosevelt, at 11 a.m.
Morley Park, Searingtown Rd., Roslyn-No. Hills, at Noon.
Cantiague Park, W. John St., Hicksville, at 1:30 p.m.
Wantagh Park, Merrick Rd. and Wantagh Parkway, at
Nassau Beach Park, Lido Blvd., Lido, a 13:30 p. m.
Bay Park, end of First Ave., East Rockaway, at 4:30 p.m.
Recreation and Parks Commissioner Abram C. Williams
said there will be enough candy for all and invites parents to
bring their youngsters to one of the parks at the appointed
time to watch Santa swoop from the sky in modern-day
fashion. Rain date is the following day at the same time.
