Grumman Appreciation Day
Friday, October 30, has been designated as "Grumman Appreciation
Day" by the Bethpage Rotary Club. Planned around their previous-tribute
to Grumman, the Lunar Module model in the R.R. parking lot, a
program will begin at 12 noon. All Bethpage residents and friends are
invited to turn out and show their support to Grumman and their opposition
to the LTV takeover. Grumman dignitaries will be on hand to talk
about the situation their company faces and to accept a plaque of recognition
being presented to Grumman by the Bethpage Rotary Club.
Bethpage merchants have joined the Rotary Club in acquiring a large
banner to be hung across a main road in Bethpage showing support of the
Grumman Corporation. Although the banner may not be ready by
Friday, it will be seen flying high, in the near future.
The Bethpage High School Band will be in town on Friday to step up the
festivities with a lively musical program under the direction of Mr. Fred
Cohen.
The Broadway Deli, Jimmies Deli and other eateries will be running
luncheon specials for Grummanites who come into town on that afternoon
to take part in Grumman Appreciation Day.
