Teammates
Help "Ducky"
The Hayes Inn "A" Softball Team really
knows the meaning of teamwork and sportsmanship.
They demonstrate this in their support of a
downed teammate, Michael "Ducky" Donals of
Bethpage.
On Columbus Day, Michael was the victim of a
serious motorcycle accident while on his way to
work at Grumman. He was hit by a car that ran
the light and was badly injured.
Microsurgery enabled him to keep his leg after
he suffered a shattered kneecap. Still in the
hospital at this date, Michael faces an extensive
therapy program.
The team has arranged for a basket of cheer to
be raffled off on November 15 with all proceeds
going to Mike's wife and two year old son. All
those interested in joining the team's effort to
help "Ducky" can pick up a book of chances at
Hayes Inn on Broadway in Bethpage.
Award Winning Dairy
A Warning From The Bethpage
Fire Dept. It has come to our attention that an
organization by the name of THE EASTERN
CHIEFS ASSOCIATION is soliciting
funds in our District. We wish to inform the
public that we do not authorize this
organization to solicit funds in our district.
We have our own annual Fund Drive once a
year for residents and commercial businesses
in our district. The EASTERN
CHIEFS ASSOCIATION will claim that the
monies you give will benefit the Bethpage
Fire Department. This is not true. They will
claim to have permission from the Chief of
the Bethpage Fire Department; this is also
not true. We request that if any representative
approaches you on this matter please
contact the Bethpage Fire Department at
931-2660. We greatly appreciate your help in
this matter.
