Girls Volleyball Team Undefeated Champs
The Bethpage Volleyball Team is Conference 2 Champions
with a 13-0 record. In an exciting match, they beat West
Hempstead 15-11,15-6. They quickly set up their attack with
43 spikes against their opponents, 19 of those spikes were hit
with great velocity and such perfect placement that West
Hempstead could only watch the ball rebound off their court
scoring point after point for Bethpage.
They have worked hard throughout their season showing
excellent skills on spikes, blocks, serves, and backcourt
saves. The player's enthusiasm and desire to win have
proven to be a deciding factor in this successful season. In
only one match out of thirteen this season, has the team
played three games. In all the other matches, they beat
their opponent in two straight games.
The Nassau County Championship is a single elimination
playoff. Bethpage has now completed the first round of the
playoffs beating Oyster Bay 15-5,15-9.
They're still working towards the goal of Nassau County
Champions. Coach DiPrima is extremely proud of her team
and their accomplishments - first in their league, Conference
2 champions, and now entering the county playoffs. The girls
have worked everyday since August - practicing and
conditioning. They play with confidence, and enthusiasm -
and when you combine that with ten girls who work well
together - you have a championship team. Good luck
Bethpage in the Counties.
