Village Restoration. Candlelight evenings at the village will run
through Saturday, December 29.
FOR A SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE: Running back, Greg Settino, the
captain of Bethpage High Schools varsity football team, recently accepted an
award from Joseph Campbell, executive vice president of National Bank of
North America.
The "Outstanding Football Award Plaque" was presented to Greg for his
"superior performance in the recent high school Playoff games."
The presentation by National Bank of North America is part of the bank's
program in which participating schools in Nassau and Suffolk single out a player
each week during the football season.
This year, Greg captained the Golden Eagles to a division championship.
Bethpage lost in the finals to . .West Hempstead. The game was played under the
lights at Hofstra stadium. West Hempstead was the only team to defeat
Bethpage during the 1979 season.
