offices in the Town of Oyster Bay elections this past Tuesday. Pictured above

When former Supervisor John Burke resigned to take a seat on the bench, Joseph Colby was chosen

The Massapequa Park resident was elected to his first full term in 1977.
Colby lost the endorsement of the Nassau County Civil Service Association through his institution of
new work rules for Sanitation workers. However a large group of Town workers disavowed the endorsement
and actively worked for Colby's reelection.

office handles 30,000 dog licenses and 23,000 parking tickets, all by computer. When she assumed
office, this paperwork was still being done by hand.
