Owners of bicycles bad better keep them locked ap at nieht in a safe place and even tben they are liable to be stolen, for thieves have been busy in this locality of late. Last Friday night the barn of Theodore Corwin on Bellmore Ave. was entered, a Yale lock being broken, and a lady's wheel and the handle bars from another stolen. Tbe following day, while one of William Smith's beys was playing in the hedge near Corwin's barn he found the frame of the stolen bicycle, only tbe wheels, bundle bars and chain being taken. Oh Monday night James Molloy left his wh'ael standing at the foundation of the new fire hull, and returning found it bad disappeared, but the following day diacovered it had been taken home by J. A. Vooris, who thought one of the men working at the new building had gone home and for¬ got to take the wheel with him. Re¬ cently a wheel was taken from the residence of Gus Bopp on Bellmore Avenae, but the next night wa3 re¬ turned. A few weeks ago a shed at the Benzer homestead on Bellmore Avenae was entered and a lady'a bicy¬ cle taken. The thieves rode the wheel to Smithville South, entered a shed, and stole Walter Frisch's bicycle, leaving the Benzer wheel there. Ittfs the general belief tbat the work is be¬ ing done by someone living in or near the village, as they seem to know where bicycles are kept and bave no trouble in getting away witb them.
