choked the score board with more than twenty-five runs it was too tiresome to follow the slaughter. Umpire Frank Roberts was very patient and the only thing we can say was that the local team got a chance to do some practic¬ ing. The Bellmore Club recejVes good support from the residents here and they turn out to see a good game of ball, not an imitation. Stronger teams as opponents are needed and even if the boys do score a failure now and then it will not be as bad as a bur¬ lesque on the game we have had to re¬ port in the cases of the colored players and the Saranacs.
We stand by the local team in every way. They are good players and put up a strong game and we make this suggestion in the hope that they will give the village a better grade of ball than recently.
