On Saturday, March 4, a car in
parking lot three of our campus
burst into flames.
Three anonymous persons walked
into Campus Police Headquarters at 10:57
p.m. to report the fire. Immediately Lt.
Nilsen, Sgt. Anderson, and patrolman
Anzalone raced to the scene of the fire,
while one of the officers on duty in head-quarters
called in Farmingdale Fire De-partment.
The fire chief, of the Farmingdale
Fire Department, arrived to the scene at
11:06 p.m. followed shortly by two fire
trucks. Quickly and effectively a crew of
roughly eleven well trained firemen pro-ceeded
to extinguish the fire. The car was
engulfed in flames sending a cloud of
black smoke high into the air, and across
the parking lot.
Lt. Nilsen, Sgt. Anderson, and
patrolman Anzalone stood close by, ready
to assist. While waiting for the fire de-partment
to arrive to the scene Sgt. An-derson
attempted to contain the fire by
emptying a whole container of fire extin-guisher
into the flames. Sgt. Anderson
also attempted to get close enough to the
